  • Serves as developmental editor for electronic products in multiple Health Profession disciplines. Works closely with the acquisitions editors, authors, and assigned freelance developmental editors to carry out the publishing plan for each title. Actively collaborates with the Digital Publishing and Production departments to successfully create electronic products, such as web, mobile, video, and custom software.

  • Advises Editorial Electronic Products Manager and Director of Content Development regarding workflow of all HPM projects as they proceed through Digital Publishing and Production. Reports status of all assigned projects on a regular basis via company-wide database.

  • Works with acquisition editors from inception of project through the development and production cycles to educate potential, and signed, authors about the publication process

  • Collaborates with acquisition editors to identify/suggest appropriate electronic products; request Electronic Application Development Estimate (EADE) from Electronic Publishing department for each project; monitor changes to the EADE

  • Creates and monitors development schedules. Ensures that deadlines are clearly communicated to authors and freelance developmental editors. Act as a troubleshooter as problems arise

  • Directs and helps authors/contributors to assemble all of the elements of the manuscript in the desired form. Assists authors and freelance developmental editors with art development process.

  • Prepares and releases final manuscript to Production and Digital Publishing. Reviews all art programs (files, scrap, logs) submitted by authors/freelance developmental editors before they are transmitted to Production

  • Monitors developmental, art, and Digital Publishing budgets for titles

  • Reviews and provide feedback to Digital Publishing on all software versions (Beta etc.)  as well as rough cut through final video clips
